L'Oréal Colorista Washout - Review

Hi there Ladies!!

Last week on thursday (11th May 2017) I posted a picture of the the L'Oreal Colorista/Colovista Washable hair dye on my instastory. A few ladies were interested in the outcome and my opinion about this product.

So here it is:

All in all I'm pretty satisfied with the result although I hoped the color would come out more intense.

But at first let me list some facts:

I bought the product at the local drugstore called BIPA for € 8,95. I was plesently surprised about the wide color range offered and I wanted to buy all of them because I couldn't decide on the color.

The problem was that there wasn't any information whatsoever about which hair dye works best for which hair color. So I decided to choose any color and try it out. I chose #PurpleHair which is a 2-week-washout-hairdye (5-10 shampoos) and #LiliacHair which is a 1-week-washout-hairdye (2-3 shampoos).

Because of the fact, that I work in an office and didn't want to scare off my co-workers I decided to take it slow and try the #LiliacHair-Color first.

I already had my hair bleached with the balayage technique. It was pretty light blonde at the very tips blending into my natural dark brown hair color at the roots.

Hair dying day :

(Thursday 11th May 2017)

Before applying the dye to my hair I was curious if the store had all the colors offered by L'Oreal so I looked it up on the internet.

There I found a really interesting picture that explained which dye works on which hair color. That's when I found out, that the #LiliacHair-Color was concepted for really light blonds. But since I've already bought the color I decided to give it a try anyways.

The application of the hair color was pretty simple. You get this tube of dye and all you have to do is to apply it on you hair. That's what I did. Well, my mom helped me with this but hey, that's what moms and daughters do, right? #MomDaughterFriendship #MomDaughterRelationship

So after I spread the whole dye on my tips (the bleached part) I left it about 30 - 35 min in to proceed. (The instructions say to leave it about 15-20 min in but I wanted to make sure, that I have at least a pinch of purple on my hair - I need to confess, I really thought that it wouldn't work on MY hair)

Check-In After 1st Shampoo:

After 35 min I washed my hair as I normally would, then dried and styled it.

AND I was a bit disappointed about the outcome.

Notice: It was 10 pm at night and I didn't have enough light to see the proper color.

The next morning I saw the result and I was pretty satisfied. My light-blonde tips caught the dye really well as for the part with the darker blond hair didn't do so well.

(Sunday 14th May 2017)

So, it’s been 2 days since I colored my hair – at this point I consider it more appropriate to call it colored rather than dyed.

At this stage my hair isn’t really colored any more. It looks like I put on a mask of silver shampoo and left it to long in to proceed.

It not a dramatic fail but it doesn't look fancy either. I know this sounds a bit harsh but I think you guys get the point.

I won’t check in a 3rd time because I think that by that time the color will be gone completely (as it’s stated on the packaging)

My concluding opinion on the pastel colors #PeachHair #PinkHair #DirtyPinkHair #LiliacHair is that it's not worth the money if you don't have really light blond hair. But if you do and you want to experiment with temporary colors, go for it girl.

As for the other colors I can't say anything yet. But I'm going to give you guys an update as soon as I try the other color #PurpeHair.

#PurpleHair is for darker blonds so I hope that this one is going to dye my whole bleached hair, not just the tips.
